Linux – Password Manager KeePassXC

My first application to add to the default of LinuxMint is of course a password manager. Under Windows I have trusted KeePass for years and I was able to run it on my (virtual) Linux machines using mono. However, a lot of the automation does not work seamless and the GUI does not look too appealing. There “was” the KeePassX project which apparently stalled in 2016 and was overtaken by the KeePassXC team. KeePassXC it is … Works perfectly nice except that one of my backup files got corrupted. It may have been corrupted without KeePassXC and I will not put blame. In any case I used another database AND enabled the automatic backup feature in KeePassXC. Then I added the KeePassXC plugin to my Firefox. This works perfectly nice and I have (almost) all my recent and ancient passwords back. Success!
